Changelog

What changed on this site, release by release, and why I bothered.

  1. v1.10

    A changelog, quietly

A quiet place to see what changed and why.

    • This page, an Atom feed, and a footer stamp that shows one Ember point when something’s new.

Pull requests #49 (opens in a new tab)

  2. v1.9

    Moon-lit dots

I dimmed the wave’s dots at night, toward daytime’s contrast.

    • Dark-mode dots sit closer to day’s contrast, with a touch more alpha under the moon.

Pull requests #48 (opens in a new tab)

  3. v1.8

    Saying it plainly

The homepage now says who I am in words, for people and agents.

    • A positioning line under my name, and a page title that leads with name and role.
    • Schema.org data and /llms.txt come from one source.
    • Cookie-free page views are back, and the build checks what it publishes.

  4. v1.7

    Motion that follows the market

Her motion follows the sea’s pace, and the sky follows your clock.

    • Bob, pitch and sway ride the wave. Rougher seas move her more.
    • By your local time, night brings the moon, stars and her lying back.
    • Spray follows how hard she carves.

  5. v1.6

    She waves hello

She waves hello, and the weather line says what the market is doing in plain words.

    • She waves while the market’s open, then eases into surfing.
    • “About this wave” opens with a plain summary.
    • My PGP key is served through Web Key Directory.

  6. v1.5

    Case studies get a door

Studies sit behind a password door, encrypted when the site builds.

    • Opening a study grows its block to fill the screen.
    • Market closed: she lies back on her board, under a rayed sun.
    • Fixed a hidden study link on phones.

  7. v1.4

    She learns to wait

She bobs, glances around and lifts her arms, as if waiting for you to scroll.

    • Head, torso, arms and legs each turn on their own.
    • Side ears, a swaying ponytail, bigger hands.
    • A buoy setting for the homepage.

  8. v1.3

    Case studies learn the ridge

Each study opens on the stretch of market where the work happened.

    • Study headers zoom the landscape to their years, with the surfer riding it.
    • Voxel bullets and two new graphics, Waffle and DataFlow.
    • A reading rail carries her to the next chapter.

Pull requests #21 (opens in a new tab)

  9. v1.2

A surfer I can tune by eye

One set of numbers now shapes the surfer, so I can tune her by eye.

    • A redesigned surfer: eyes, a ponytail, a wider board.
    • A dev-only lab for trying her out. The build fails if it ever ships.

  10. v1.1

    A sky-blue day mode

Light mode was beige. It’s sky-blue now, contrast-checked in every sea.

    • Day mode is sky-blue, AA contrast in every sea state.
    • Her board is pointer-shaped, and she turns with your scroll.
    • A voxel “CC” favicon, and no more night flash in Safari.

  11. v1.0

    The new site

Moved from Create React App to Astro, keeping the S&P 500 ridge.

    • One career page, newest first.
    • The ridge traces the S&P 500 from 2007, refreshed hourly. The day’s market sets the sea.
    • Bricolage Grotesque, Atkinson Hyperlegible and Martian Mono, over a deep-sea palette.
